Ramen noodles are a college-food staple, or just for anyone looking for a cheap bite to fill them up.

But is it safe to eat?

This new study shows shocking results that may have you thinking twice about eating ramen for dinner.

Dr. Braden Kuo, a gastrointestinal specialist, conducted an experiment with a time lapse video inside the stomach, comparing both fresh and preserved ramen noodles. After two hours of digestion, the results were staggering.

Ramen, like other processed foods contains TBHQ which a by-product of the petroleum industry and food additive used frequently to preserve cheap processed foods. This is part of the reason why ramen doesn’t digest in the stomach.
